Color lithograph‚ titled in the lower Margin “Up Channel-The Lahloo”‚ depicting The Lahloo on rough seas with a second sail ship and the shoreline in the distance‚ 20” x 29 7/8” plate‚ signed in pencil in the margin lower right‚ blind stamps in the margin lower left‚ marked in the top margin “Published in 1968 by Frost & Reed Limited of Bristol and London‚ England.”‚ in what appears to be the original museum mat and gilt moulded frame‚ frame size 30 ¾" x 39 ¾". Condition: Very minor waviness to paper throughout‚ otherwise in very nice condition. Additional Information: “The Lahloo” was built in 1867 by Robert Steele & Company. “The Lahloo” made her maiden voyage on the 24th of July. Under her Captain John Smith‚ she took part in many of the great races between tea clippers on the exciting run from China to England. “The Lahloo” was 191 feet in length with a registered tonnage of 779 tons and was particularly fast in light breezes. She made the fastest time of any clipper in 1869 by completing the return voyage
